KU music professor appointed Director of the Midwestern Music Academy

Dan Gailey, KU Director of Jazz Studies, has been appointed the new Director of the Midwestern Music Academy. Leslie Jabara, student recruiter for the School of Music, will coordinate the camps with Professor Gailey.

For 75 years the Midwestern Music Academy at KU has provided junior high and high school students from across the region an enriching summer musical experience. A new program this year will include music participation for elementary students (Jayhawk Junior Musicians). A press release will be sent out soon with more details about the camps.
